Came across this moving and inspiring story on Typhoon Haiyan. A year ago, Haiyan struck parts of Southeast Asia. But the Philippines was worst hit. 6,000 people died and millions were displaced.

Today, the victims are rebuilding their lives, though many are still in temporary shelters or evacuation centres. But the Philippines people - like Lt Col Fermin Carangan and Miguel Rulona – are resilient, and I believe they will overcome this and rebuild.

The Singapore Red Cross has completed 11 projects to restore healthcare, schools, safe and clean water and livelihoods to local communities in the Philippines. Another 9 projects are on track. They were funded by donations from Singaporeans and the government. Thanks to all who supported our efforts to help rebuild the Philippines. – LHL

On this page I talk about the things I’m doing and thinking about, but I would also like to hear from you, about what we can do together for Singapore.
